“I chose to style Adam Driver for the Met Gala in a feminine, androgynous aesthetic. The style of high-waisted pants and feminine tops has become increasingly popular with young men of recent generations, and a similar style was even showcased by Harry Styles at the Met Gala in 2019. Since then, menswear has felt a revolution and a sense of empowerment in expressing their feminine side with their clothing. I felt that men’s fashion has not had the chance to express themselves as women have in their clothing options. After completing this project and sharing it with friends and family, many men in my life stated that they wish this type of feminine style was more accepted in everyday life. If I was to achieve the chance of styling Adam Driver, I would jump at the chance to style him in a new, expressive way that would encourage other young men to express themselves in the same way.”
