“When I was a senior in high school back in 2018, I visited K-State to see the Showcase of Excellence that year. Something that has very vividly stuck with me, was seeing one garment, in particular, that was on the runway, and even won an award, which was then worn by the designer at the networking luncheon the next day. From that day on, I was determined to make that happen for myself. Unfortunately due to COVID, there will not be a networking luncheon this year, but I didn’t let that stop me from creating a garment with my original intentions. Instead of wearing this to the luncheon, I will plan on wearing this to my sorority’s formal because the point was to create something that I was proud of, proud to show it off by wearing it to something important. ”
