lust for oblivion “I was five years old when I first came in contact with a high fashion magazine. I remember looking through those pages and seeing the craziest outfits I have ever seen and trying to memorize all those designers’ names. I have dreamed of a moment in my life where I would get to be part of that world, growing up in a third-world country that seemed like just a dream. I remember drawing dresses in my sketchbook, playing to be one of those designers in the high fashion magazines. Moving forward many years later, here I was away from home, and from everything I knew, and uncertain about my childhood dreams. Changing majors made me realize that it’s never too late to follow your dreams and what makes you feel empowered to be who you are. Expressing emotions through art and design always made me feel powerful and as if nothing could stop me. To me, this project circled back to those ambitious childhood dreams when I felt that everything could be possible, and made me feel empowered again.” — Dania Orellana Slide 1 Slide 1 (current slide)
