“This project embodies the concept of empowerment by showcasing women’s fashion during the 1970s. During this time period, it was finally acceptable for women to wear pants. Along with all lengths of dresses and skirts. Women were finally able to really express themselves through different styles. This gave women a sense of empowerment through their dress. Along with the changing gender roles during this time, women were starting to focus more on bettering themselves rather than just starting a family and being a housewife. Which was seen over and over again in earlier decades. Women were focusing on furthering their education and advancing in business, politics, and science. During this time women were not only feeling a sense of empowerment through fashion, but also through their own personal development. ”
